Jeff,

I fixed the link.

There is one snail in the pic that looks like it could be a Pyramidellidea snail. The other are not. They look like baby Trochus. Did you get these off of a clam or large snail?

George, I just noticed them 2 nights ago. Most have been on the rock work. I did find two ( the ones that look like certh snails) on a clam.

Is there something I can do to fix the link when I post pics.

I'm not sure why the link doesn't work when pasted directly into the post box. I always manually insert it into the text and use the code.

I have the rounded ones in my sump and display, are they bad?

I don't think they are but I can't say for sure. I have tons of them also along with dozens of other types of micro snails. If you want to know for sure get a good close up and post it for Dr. Ron Shimek on RC.

Thanks George, I started freaking out. I got out the tweezers and started plucking out every one I could find.

I also have the rounded snails in my tank. They come out when the lights go out and graze the algae on my glass and clog up my skimmer injector http://www.cmas-md.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif I would be a bit more concerned with the ones you pulled off the clam. IMO

The little ones (not sure the exact species) are generally nocturnal algae eaters. I have had them in several tanks for years, and although they can become epidemic...they usually only stick to algae. If they happen to get caught in sps corals they usually do not stay long, although they do seem to graze algae a little too much sometimes on caps, upsetting/eating tissue.
