I just got a frag of pulsating xenia last nite. It looked great in the other tank. It has been 24 hrs, it has a gray look to it and it is not open yet. Is this normal until it gets aclamated to the tank.

Give it more time and fair water circ. with halide light and it should come around in another day or so.

maybe it should not have been axe'd in the middle?? haha

Depending on the species/toleration of the xenia you can sever through the middle, just needs to be in clean water~good flow. Some you can literally tear from rocks to form splits (this is more than likely how the became known as "weeds"). Where did you get the frag from? Describe the system they were in, and yours...water quality, etc. How long has the tank been up? Other species?

Well I got home from work today, looked in the tank and the xenia was pulsating like it should. Just thought I'd let you know.

it takes a licking and keeps on ticking http://www.cmas-md.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif I got rid of a bunch myself(70+stalks) and somehow I still got some coming back to life. It's like aptasia..........never goes away.
