Hi all! Hope everyone's tanks are doing well! I ran into Tom today in Lancaster :O) and mentioned it might be something of advantage to all of us (whether softy, lps, or sps systems) to have a discussion on coral predation/diseases. Many of us have come across a few coral "nasties" over the past, and I thought it might be something worth all of our while to try to teach and learn what we have found, how to combat the issues, etc. Ron Shimek has done some great work, as many others, so if anyone has ideas...

Pictures are especially helpful, along with species predators, etc. Tracy Gray & Steve Tyree have taken many pics, etc. I would be more than happy to start putting together some sort of disease/predation reference guide (guide, not the magic pill book) if anyone is holding onto good info, books, web forums, etc.

Just a thought :O)

I think this is a great idea. I know some of us have been pretty hard with red bugs, flat worms, etc. Some with more success than others battling them, but most have gotten ahead eventually. Some with some drastic measures. This would be a great resource. We could even put it on a different section on the website for people looking for help.

I was thinking the same thing about a separate section on the site, if Gary is willing. If not, we are hoping to launch our new site (once I get the pricing done for the e-com side) and will be willing to do a library of sorts on predation, etc.

Acro eating limpets are bad enough (wild colony hitch-hikers), I have yet to get the red bugs or flatworms, and hope never to! Anyone know about these limpets (pic coming soon) chime in, I believe I have caught most of them for they are very easy to pick off at night.
