I'm building a suspended lighting hood, I will have 1 175w metal halide bulb and 2 55w pc. The question is, is it safe to build the hood out of plywood. I have reflective material on the inside and vent holes with a fan. I know that bulb creates a great deal of heat. Also can I use any 175w bulb, I have a Philips MS175/HOR, not sure if the meets the spec. for a reef tank.
Is a combo of a 175 mh and 2 55w pc actinic suffecent for a reef tank, I was thinking of adding 2 55w pc 50/50.
How long should I leave the mh on for.
