Is copper lethal to seahorses? Is anyone is CMAS keeping
seahorses....I would like to discuss the care and maintenance
of these wonderful creatures.

I don't keep them, but for what I have heard they are quite difficult to keep. They are very delicate. I would highly recommend you give Jessica a call or drop an email. She is the curator at the Baltimore Aquarium. They ahve a rather large seahorse exibit and she can give you some ideas.

hey, how's it going. I keep sea horses, I've had two of them (both female) for about 6 months, and they are doing great. now to answer the question about copper, personally I wouldn't use it, but I'm not sure, haven't come to that bridge yet. If you go to the board at www.reefcentral.com they have a seahorse section with extremely knowledgable people.

Hi:
An update on the seahorses: my three regular H. erectus are doing great have them over 5 months now and they are eating frozen PE mysis....(thank God)...now the bad news.
I received three wild caught horses... H. reidi (these guys are giants) will only eat live ghost shrimp.....I have tried every method in the book. I am a regular on seahorse.org and reef central...and took every method available to get them to switch over to PE frozen mysis....but still no takers.
I need an experienced contact with seahorses....any members I could reply to.

I suspect that seahorses are no more sensitive to Cu than other fish, after all... they are fish.

Alberto's suggestion about asking Jessica Spino at jspino@aqua.org or 410-475-2146 (pager) is probably your surest way to get the best answer. If she doesn't know herself, she knows who to ask.
