I just moved from Indianapolis to Baltimore. With that said, I would just like to know where the good places are to shop around here. This city seems to have a lot to do, much like Indianapolis.

I keep mostly reef tanks, and what not. Futheremore, I'm looking for a tank set up, prolly a 55/75 gallon tank.

Looking foward to doing some reefing!

Tanks, Joe R.

For shopping:
Livestock -- definitely Exotic Aquatics on Bel Air Rd. Reasonable prices, excellent selection. Depending on when you go, the quality can be variable (but there are is always of selection of display pieces). They also carry some high end equipment which you can't find elsewhere locally (AB Aquaspacelight, ETSS skimmers/sumps, etc. etc.) -- and at prices comparable to mail order. Service/knowledge is also excellent.

If you're willing to drive, That Fish Place is less than 90 minutes from Baltimore. The other LFSs in the immediate Baltimore area are pretty bad and really not worth mentioning, though The Aquarium Center has good prices on tanks, but that's about all that's good.

Around D.C., check out Roozen's (huge selection, but know what you are getting) and The Reef Tank (v. high quality livestock with prices to match).

I second the previous post. Exotic aquatics, which is getting ready to move to a bigger location, is definately the only place worth buying anything alive from in Baltimore. Drygoods are also good. The aquarium center is good for tanks and stands. Their selection of fish is pathetic and most will die within hours of getting to your house. In DC, there is a couple of places. One I just visited last week is coral connection. Nice selection of frags and corals. Fish selection was small but they looked healthy. Other places like The reef tank I have heard are very good but expensive. Have never been there though. Roozen's is a bag of tricks for what I have heard (haven't been there either). Their selection of fish is supposed to be extremely good, but most are sick as heck and if you really don't know what to look for, you will get a huge mortality rate.
I think the best investment you can make is to join CMAS and WAMAS (the washington club). You get discounts at the stores with your membership card, attend meetings, do trading, and learn tons from other great people in the clubs.
WELCOMED!!!!!!!
Now, for the shameless plug of the day. I ahve a 125 gal complete set up minus return pump that I ahve for sale. I just upgraded to a 360 and can't keep both running. Now is in my garage. Mosre details if really want to know.
