WOW good to see some locals in a club. I will be jumping in with 2 feet http://www.cmas-md.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif . Where do I send my money for the club. Any info on it. I would like to come to the meating this weekend.
I am also starting up a business. I have a friend that makes tanks out of acrylic. He has been doing this for years. I got a hold of a few supplyers today. Anyone have any good brand names they would like to see? Hope I'm not stepping on any toes.
Thanks

I live about 30 min south of DC (Calvert County). I will not have a store front off the start. I am going to try to do this via internet. Pending on the responce and how well things do maybe sometime in the future I may. But for now. I am going to try some baby steps if you will. I am going to try to offer mostly dry good for now. Fish tanks, filters, skimmers, chemicals. I am also looking into adding tanks into peoples homes for them.

Hiya ClownBoy,
You mentioned you are starting a business out of your home, and I was wondering what your main focus will be...i.e. internet retail, dry goods retail, or installations in the residential setting? What kind of suppliers were you looking for?

You hit the nail on the head AquariaUSA. I am in the process of getting vendors. I am looking for what brands for dry goods are the most popular. Kent, aqua clear, red sea,JBJ etc. If you have any Ideas on some vendors please throw them at me.
I don't think setting up tanks in homes is going to happen off the start though. This is what I want to do. People around wher I live a building very nice homes, and I figured I could offer a great product for their new or former home.

If you're planning to attend the meeting this weekend then just bring the money and yourself. I believe Carl is going to be there and he will have the applications and membership card for new or renewing members. otherwise go to the CMAS homepage and click on membership. There will be an application you can print out and send to the address on the page.
Welcome to the club!

geofloors thanks for the welcome. Can I also bring a frag. I would like to get into this trading thing to. I don't have any real exotic stuff yet. I have a frag of green star polyps, and I have a soft purple coral I can frag if someone was interested.
I talked to my wife about the club. I think I can make it this weekend. I'll definately get back to you all.

Certainly bring frags if you have them. There are always people trading/ selling frags at the meetings. Some meetings more than others but I'm sure someone will trade or buy them from you.

I'm sure cash is accepted http://www.cmas-md.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
To enter go to the pier 3 entrance. It's where the sea lion display used to be. If you don't know where that is then you just keep walking past the escalators (which would get you to the main entrance to the Aquarium), past some construction (old sea lion display), and into the doors on the left. You should be there no later than 6:55 and you will see other members waiting to go to the classroom.
Meetings usually end between 9-10pm. The time goes fast so it won't feel like 2 or 3 hours, believe me http://www.cmas-md.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
See you Sunday!!!

A frag will be fine so long as you keep it in an insulated box.
